CTS Course Outline

Cochrane High School Construction Technology School Year 2015 2016 Course Outline – 10, 11, 12

Welcome to Const. Tech. at Cochrane High School. This course is a division of CTS (Career and Technology Studies), specifically, in the division of Trades, Manufacturing and Transportation.

As with all CTS courses, they are delivered and available as “Modules”. In a one term time slot, students are expected to complete 3 modules in an environment where safety is emphasized

For 2015 2016, modules offered include: Introductory:

CON 1010, 1120, 1130, 1140, 1160, 1910.

Intermediate

CON 2120, 2130, 2140, 2150, 2160, 2170, 2180, 2190, 2200, 2910, 2920

Advanced

CON 3120, 3130, 3140, 3150, 3160, 3910, 3920

Evaluation does vary with each module. Attached is a sample. For the Introductory level courses, students are requested to complete a self evaluation for each project.

This is taken into account when the module evaluation is completed.

To be successful, students are expected to supply and bring daily: safety glasses, pencils, and a glue stick and tape measure. Other safety equipment and supplies will be provided or requested as necessary.

Please note that School fees may not include all materials needed!

Every two weeks a Progress Report mark out of 5 will be assigned to provide information on student development, comprised of regular attendance, on time to class, safe shop behavior, on task behavior and assigned project progress. A mark of 1 – 5 (1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest) will be provided for Parent / Guardian information only.  This mark will not be included in the final Module Mark.
