EXPECTATIONS

  • Come to class on time and be prepared to work. (Bring paper, pens, calculator, etc)

  • Each time a student is late for class, it will be monitored.  If you are late 3 times, you will need to serve a lunchtime detention.

  • If you miss a class, it is your responsibility to make up missed work. Handouts are located at the front of the classroom as well as on the CHS website (plone site).  It is recommended that each student have a Science 10 “buddy” for missing notes, labs, etc.

  • If you are absent for a test, you must see your teacher the day that you come back to arrange to write it in the test centre. (Wed –7:30 – 8:55 am, Tues/Thurs – 3:30 – 5:00pm)

  • Major assignments will be given a firm due date with a few days allotted to come in for any extra help needed prior to the due date.  If the assignment is not submitted on the due date, a 0 will be entered into Powerschool.  Students will be strongly encouraged to come in at lunch to finish the assignment.   Once the assignments have been graded and returned to the students, an alternate assignment will be issued to any students who have not submitted the original assignment.  If the alternate assignment is still not completed, parents will be called and you will receive appropriate disciplinary action from administration.  Students are encouraged to complete ALL assignments, as the learning process is necessary for success on tests and the final exam.

  • If you find that you are behind in your work, or having difficulty with any of the concepts, please don’t hesitate to come in and see Mrs. McLeod for extra help (Room 102 at lunch or another prearranged time).

  • Cell phones and ipods must be turned OFF while in Science class.  Laptops are encouraged in class, however, they must be used to ENHANCE learning not distract from it.

  • If you or your parents need to contact one of us for any reason, you can email your teacher at

cmcleod@rockyview.ab.ca.

  • GOOD LUCK IN SCIENCE 10 THIS SEMESTER.  ENJOY!!

The scientist is not a person who gives the right answers, he’s one who asks the right questions.
