Course objectives: Students will gain an understanding of psychological research and experimentation.  Research ethics and procedures will be discussed in this course.  A brief introduction to statistical analysis will be used to help students with data interpretation.  Students will have the opportunity to design, conduct, collect and organize data, interpret and analyze the findings of a major psychological research project.  The project will span the term and will make up the bulk of the course.  Other units studied in this course include memory and cognition.

Expectations:

  • Come to class on time and ready to actively participate.
  • Missed tests can be made up during Flex.
  • Students will follow ethical guidelines when conducting psychology research.
  • Late assignments will be accepted until it is handed back to the class, after that an alternate assignment will be given.
